Age: 11–16

Time requirement: assembly 20 minutes, lesson 45–60 minutes

With one cyber-attack every 50 seconds and one cyber-attack on a UK school every 4 hours, cyber security has never been more important. The ongoing threat to individuals, companies and nations makes it imperative that we seek to educate young people on these risks.

In this assembly and lesson students learn how infrastructure and online activity can compromise or support cyber security, both individually and nationwide. Students will define cyberspace, identify key threats from cyber-attacks in the UK and understand key actions they can take to ensure their own online safety.

This Cyber Security resource meets requirements of the PSHE / RSE / Health and Wellbeing curriculums, and builds essential digital skills for life and work. It aligns to the Gatsby Benchmarks for careers education.
