Changing a wheel may seem like a daunting task, but fear not! With a little guidance and a positive attitude, you'll be able to handle this essential skill in no time. So, let's dive in and learn how to change a wheel step by step.

Step 1

Safety first. If you are by the road, get a warning triangle and put your hi-vis on. Remember, the less time you spend on the road, the safer you are.

Step 2

Get a wheel wrench. You should find one in your car, along with a key that fits on the wheel nut. Now loosen all the wheel bolts.

Step 3

Now you need to jack the vehicle up, and we need to make sure if the jack breaks, your legs don’t. Use an axle stand to prop the car up if you have one. If you don’t, don't worry, you can place your wheel on its side just before the arch.

Step 4

You guessed it, take the old wheel off and put the spare one on. Use the same bolts to tighten it up.

Step 5

Tighten those bolts really tightly because if they come off, it will really, really hurt you. Your car manual will give you specifics, but you should just get them as tight as you can.

Step 6

Last step. Check your air pressure as soon as you can. You don't want to drive for long until you know you're safe. You can do this at any petrol station.

And that's how to change a wheel.

Changing a wheel is a valuable skill that every driver should possess. By following these easy steps, you can safely change a wheel without any hassle. Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries to get the hang of it.
