  • What the Army does

Being a soldier is a lot of things, from showing loyalty to being a team player, but it’s also the huge range of experiences the Army provides that makes a difference - could you be part of the team?

Depending on your role within the Army, you'll need different skills, which you’ll be trained to do. But all soldiers share key qualities that the Army’s opportunities and training help develop. The qualities we look for in a soldier are:

  • practical

  • skilled

  • a team player

  • committed

  • loyal

  • motivated

  • good communicator

  • resilient

Being a soldier means you will experience travel by being part of operations or expeditions around the world, not to mention the opportunity to take part in adventurous training. You'll also gain world-class training, skills and qualifications (apprenticeships and trades), all while living with your mates and enjoying gym and sports facilities. The Army will help you to be the very best you can be.
