Which apprenticeship are you currently doing / have you done?
I completed the Level 4 Intelligence Analyst Apprenticeship.
Can you tell us about the skills, knowledge and experiences you gained through your apprenticeship?
During my apprenticeship, I gained a wealth of skills, knowledge, and experiences that have been incredibly valuable.
One of the key benefits was staying updated with phase 2 and phase 3 knowledge. This acted as a great multiplier, enhancing my understanding and skills in areas that I might not engage with daily. It helped me stay current in various streams, ensuring that I'm well-prepared for any task or challenge that comes my way.
I also learned the importance of keeping up to date with the way OS (Operational Support) and thematic reporting are written. This knowledge is essential because I might be required to apply it in my next posting or even in my current job. The roles in the Army are diverse, and being proficient in these core skills ensures that I can adapt and excel in different positions.
Overall, my apprenticeship taught me the value of maintaining and updating my core skills. This proactive approach to learning and staying informed is vital for my professional growth and effectiveness, allowing me to confidently handle the diverse responsibilities that come with my role in the Army.
What was the highlight of your apprenticeship experience?
My significant achievement was being nominated for Army Apprentice of the Year. It was great to have finished the programme on a high.
Take it. It’s free education and time out to develop your skills. I think it is vital that regiments/corps open up time and education space to do these skills.
