If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it.

You will be asked to enter the email address you originally registered with. We'll email you a link you can use to reset your password. The email will be sent to the most recent email address we have on file for you.

If you can't see the email, please check your spam or junk folders and bear in mind in can take up to 30 minutes for the email to arrive. The email will contain a link to a form where you can create a new password. The rules for your password are:

• It must be between 8 and 15 characters in length

• It must contain at least 1 lower case and 1 upper case letter

• It must contain at least 1 of these special characters - $@!%*#?&_{+}

• It must contain at least 1 number

• It must not have been used before for Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force recruiting

• Please do not use any common words or phrases that can identify yourself

Please don't attempt to log in until you've seen confirmation that your password has been changed. If you have a problem, call us on 0345 600 8080 or send screenshots and a brief explanation of the issue by email to our Contact Team who will help you.

You can change your contact details when you are logged in. Click on the cog icon in the top right of the Dashboard, then click on Edit Contact & Marketing Preferences.

On this page you will see the data we have for you, although it’s partially hidden (with ******) for security purposes.

You can set or change your known name, which is the name you would like us to call you if it is different from your first name. This is intended for shortened versions of longer names – eg Jon instead of Jonathan, so please don’t use it for nicknames.

You can also change your email address on this page. If you do change it, it any emails we send will go to your new email address. But you’ll always log in by using the email address you originally registered with - even if you’ve changed it since.

Your mobile or home phone numbers can also be changed, and you can give us an alternative correspondence address if you have one (eg if you are working away from home, or are at University etc).

Lastly, you can use this page to change your contact method preferences. You can select email or SMS, or both – but at least one method has to be selected. We’ll send a notification via your preferred contact method whenever there’s a new message to read or a task for you to complete in the Candidate Portal.

The answer to your security question must be typed exactly the same as it was when you first set it – this includes capital letters and any punctuation.

When you’ve logged in you will see your Dashboard, which will include a list of tasks. To access a task, just click it. Each task has a message that goes with it, which you’ll find in your inbox. Always read the message first, because it will give you more information about what we want you to do.

Your URN is your unique reference number. It helps us if you mention it whenever you contact us, so that we can quickly locate your record.

If you don’t know your URN, you can find it out by clicking the cog icon in the top right of the Dashboard whenever you are logged in. Your URN is displayed in the box marked Unique Reference Number.

If this occurs, please delete all the data you have entered, and click Save for Later. Then start again, entering only your secondary school - by selecting it from the list displayed for the town or postcode you enter. Also enter any GCSE or equivalent qualifications. Then click the Submit button.

Any further or higher education you have can be added at a later date.
