Looking to join the Army after uni? Financial support is available through a range of bursaries and scholarships.

If you're studying for school or university, you may be able to get financial support from the Army. Here's what's available and who it's for.

The Army offers a range of financial support packages, bursaries and scholarships to selected officer candidates during further and higher education.

Army Bursar

Bursaries (University Students)

Get support for your degree - up to £43, 605, or up to £75,000 for medical routes. Helping you focus on studying and prepare for officer training and not your student debt.

Army Scholarships

Who it's for: Sixth Form students

The offer: £3,000 in year 13 (S6 or Y14 in NI) then get a standard bursary of £6,000-7,000 when you are at uni. You'll also have a guaranteed place at Sandhurst when you graduate.

Need to know: Once at university you can also apply to upgrade to another bursary, such as the Enhanced or DSUS undergraduate bursaries; or a Medical Bursary if you’re studying nursing or medicine.

Army Bursaries

There are a range of different bursaries available for people who know they want to join as an officer once they've finished their degree. The amount depends on the subjects you're studying - and the Corps you will join.

Who it's for: University students who plan to join as an officer in any part of the Army.
The offer: Standard Bursary up to £7,000

Who it's for: University students who plan to join as an officer in any part of the Army and have at least 128 UCAS points.
The offer: Enhanced Bursary up to £24,000

Who it's for: University students studying a STEM subject, who plan to join a STEM Corps as an officer.
The offer: DSUS (STEM) Sponsorship up to £43,605

Who it's for: University students studying one of the following areas medical, veterinary, pharmacy dental or nursing.
The offer: Medical Bursaries up to £75,000

Who it's for: You must be studying a BMus in performance who want to join as a Musician after university (soldier role).
The offer: Musicians up to 27,750
